Jason Englisch

Pre-Licensed Professional/Practicum Student

Jason is excited to work with Living Bridges in this next step of personal and professional growth.

Jason holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Psychology major – Thompson Rivers University), a Social Services Worker Diploma (Northern Lights College), a Certificate in Haven Counselling Skills (The Haven Foundation), and is currently completing their Master of Counselling degree with Athabasca University. Jason has an extensive career in the human services field, primarily in the community living sector, supporting people of various ages in home, community, school, group, and individual settings.

Naturally drawn to narrative therapy due to Jason’s interest in people’s stories, Jason also wishes to develop their work from feminist and systems perspectives, acknowledging the external influences on people’s lives, especially marginalized communities. Jason listens from a perspective holding each person as the expert on their own life and experiences, striving to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where people are welcome to share and explore their situations.

Jason is a second-generation political refugee who grew up in the Sudeten German community of Tomslake, BC, in Treaty 8 territory, and moved to Kamloops on the traditional and unceded territory of the Tkemlúps te Secwépemc people in 2003. Jason likes to get to Vancouver and the Gabriola Islands whenever possible.

Alongside advancing their counselling career, Jason wishes to continue their journey as an intern and team member at The Haven Foundation on Gabriola Island, BC. Jason also enjoys experiencing new people and places, with passions for live music and new culinary experiences, traveling with camera in hand.
