Paul Ross

Pre-Licensed Professional/Practicum Student

Paul is a practicum student counsellor completing his Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. He completed his Bachelor’s of Commerce at the University of British Columbia and had a 20-year career in the banking, insurance and self-employment industries. Paul is a born and raised Kamloopsian, where he has volunteered for many Kamloops organizations and has coached multiple sports teams. These and other life experiences have led Paul to understand that he values being a helper. Paul will take this supporting and assisting attitude into each counselling session to provide care for his clients.

Paul provides a non-judgemental and safe space for each of his clients. Implementing a holistic view on health allows his clients to learn new aspects of themselves, which provides new information for healing. Paul umbrellas a person-centered approached while drawing on many modalities and techniques to provide adaptive sessions for specific client needs. He is a true believer that with hard work our minds, including thought patterns and emotions, can change.

Outside of his counselling life, first and foremost, Paul will be with his family and friends. He remains active throughout all four Kamloops seasons including skiing, snowboarding, biking, hiking and golf. Feel free to talk fishing anytime because both salt and freshwater fishing are Paul’s favorite hobbies.
