Sabrina Broad

Pre-Licensed Professional/Practicum Student

Sabrina is a practicum student completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, she realized her passion and core values were more closely aligned with supporting others and mental health advocacy, leading her to pursue a career in counselling.

With a background in crisis intervention and support work, Sabrina has developed a strong belief that safety, connection, and authenticity form the foundation for change. Her approach is shaped by both professional and lived experience and is grounded in trauma-informed and strengths-based principles. She deeply values each client’s unique experiences and cultural identities, while considering the intergenerational and systemic factors that influence one’s personal wellbeing.

Sabrina is passionate about creating a safe and inclusive space where clients feel heard and empowered. She believes in walking alongside clients with warmth, attunement, and co-regulation while supporting their inherent resilience. Sabrina welcomes clients from all walks of life experiencing challenges with stress, anxiety, depression, identity and self-acceptance, and life transitions. Her approach draws from evidence-based practices including Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, mindfulness, and somatic practices. She holds a particular appreciation for the mind-body connection and holistic wellness.

Outside of her professional roles, Sabrina finds personal balance through hiking, gardening, creative expression, and practicing yoga. As an avid plant lover, she constantly finds inspiration in nature’s wisdom and its ability to foster continual growth and renewal. Sabrina can also often be found planning her next travel adventure with her partner, always searching for places that combine nature, adventure, and new perspectives.
