Sobia Noreen
November 14th 2024
Please join us in welcoming one of several counsellors we have joining us to learn in the next several months who has already agreed to join our team in January 2025. Sobia Noreen is accepting new clients on a reduced-fee basis as she learns from her Supervisor, Robin Collins, here at Living Bridges, and will be taking on a full case load as an associate in the New Year. We are delighted to have her on the team and look forward to learning from her as she learns from all of us.
If you think Sobia might be a fit for yourself or someone you love, please don't hesitate to reach out to our office to book a session or be added to our waitlist.
A Little About Sobia
Currently a practicum student with Living Bridges, Sobia holds a degree in Social Work and is completing the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) program with Yorkville University. Through her involvement in prevention social work, Sobia recognizes a high need for mental health services for our younger generation. She has years of experience working with individuals in areas of trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, PTSD, domestic violence, and sexual abuse. Sobia works collaboratively with clients – using CBT that is solution-focused and strengths-based to empower individuals to recognize their strengths and cultivate the necessary skills to navigate traumatic challenges.
Acknowledging that she is an uninvited guest on the ancestral, traditional, and unceded territory of the Secwepemc Nation, Sobia feels honored to work, play, and live on the land of Tk'emlups people. She understands how experiences of racism, oppression, and inequality can create daily challenges and affect a person’s physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing, and so she desires to help young individuals who are facing them. Sobia’s person-centered and trauma-informed approach takes into consideration the individual needs and unique circumstances of each client.
