Yes, absolutely! We have taken steps to educate ourselves and recognize that we are always learning. We are committed to providing a safe space for our clients to build bridges to a stronger tomorrow, however and they may identify. We pride ourselves on our inclusivity and would hope to be thought of as an ally to our community who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+.
While our offices on Tranquille Road in Kamloops are in an older building that is not currently accessible, we are able to offer online and phone appointments, where appropriate. We are planning a move to a new location in 2024, and those offices will be fully accessible and barrier free for all.
We have taken several steps to comply with current health safety orders and we are committed to keeping our staff and clients as safe as possible. To that end, we have moved the majority of our clients to online telehealth appointments via secure software applications like Jane, and Microsoft Teams.
For in-office meetings and appointments, we clean and sanitize our spaces for each client, and have limited the number of people in our offices at any given time. We ask that clients with in-person appointments fill out the COVID screening document sent 24 hours prior to appointments and arrive no more than 5 minutes before their scheduled sessions, wearing a mask to enter the building.
Our associates are all vaccinated and will offer distanced sessions in their offices, where masks may be removed.
It has always been important to us to keep counselling accessible for those seeking it, and we invite you to speak about a sliding scale for fees with your counsellor as many are able to make allowances.
In addition to this, we offer a variety of affordable group workshops that are 4-6 weeks long for the investment of what a single counselling session would cost. These workshops run throughout the year and you can be added to a notification list for an upcoming session here.
Finally, to offer lower-cost and pro-bono support, we take on many master’s practicum students each year who are looking for clients to fulfill their time requirements for graduation. These students are directly supervised by our own staff and come to us with varying backgrounds, impressive skills and experience. To hear about our current team of available practicum students, please reach out with this form.
For ease and simplicity, most of our clients supply us with a Visa or MC to add to their secure client files, and sessions are then billed automatically as they happen, with receipts then issued by email. For clients without access to a credit card, we can accept Visa Debit, and also email transfers for payment.
We require 24 hour’s notice to cancel an appointment. Any cancellations that are less than 24 hour’s notice are subject to a cancellation fee, which is the full rate of the appointment.
Unless we have received prior notification and the opportunity to offer your space to a client on a waitlist, you will be charged for any missed appointments.
Great question, and yes! We are happy to work with you to get your sessions reimbursed by your insurance provider. You’ll pay us for your sessions, and be issued a receipt that you can then submit to your insurance carrier. Among our staff, we have various credentials for which insurance companies provide coverage; please check your benefit package and with our admin team to make sure you’ll be covered before your first session.
We are always open to exploring relationships with new associates and practicum students to see if there’s a coherent fit with our clients and our existing team. To begin this conversation, please fill out this form and we will be in touch if we wish to proceed.
This is an easy one! To start the process, reach out to Tara for a consultation; she’ll work with you to design the workshop you would like and then get it scheduled, and support you with the logistics of filling it with eager participants.
We invite you to park for free in the available spots in front of the building.
